The British winter isn’t easy to bike through. It’s rather wet and cold. Sure, we don’t have it as bad as the Canadians, but it’s because of the constant wetness we have on the roads here…

To help you size up a new Saddle →
I’ve always wanted to try out the Selle SMP saddles since they promise substantial comfort whilst reducing damage to your ‘bits’. However, they have to have what is probably the LEAST informative website in the planet. There is absolutely no way to know which one of the MANY saddles they have in sizes is the right one for you. Luckily, I found this website that has a ‘life...

If you follow vintage saddles, the Regal is the old Selle San marco that has the rivets on it. The Regal(e) keeps that ethos, but modernizes it.

Bike Power Meters
I do not have a power meter, but I inherently know the value of training with one. I wish I could but frankly, they are not affordable yet. If I had to pick one, I’d probably go with a CycleOps Powertap, mostly because it seems to be the most convenient (you can buy a wheel with the hub in there).
Anyway, I found the following link pretty useful in trying to understand the differences:

Good Points on Aero vs. Non-Aero wheels
I like the look and the concept of Aero wheels as much as the next guy, but I’ve been trying to get down to the nitty gritty of how much ‘faster’ I’d go if I had a set of Aero wheels or at least something ‘better’ aero-wise than my 32 spoked handmade Mavic Open Pros on Shimano 105 hubs.
I do not need wheels, but this is more out...

Wheels I'm lusting after
So like any other cyclist, I confess that I am not always satisfied with what I have, and would like to have some other wonderful piece of kit that someone else is riding. This week’s obsession is faster wheels.
As we all know, it is a fact that wheels make you faster; this phenomenon is similar to how white bar tape makes you go faster, but I digress.

Links: Race Wheel Rentals & At Home Mechanic
Here are two interesting links:
The first is of a wheel rental service here in the UK. You get to rent some wicked ZIPP and HED wheels for ‘cheap’ so you can try them out or race with them. Great idea. Kind of like a guy’s version of a purse rental.

Also, here is a mechanic service that comes to you. Thus avoiding the whole issue of having to bring...
